The Alchemical Interplay
between the boundless range of colors in the natural world keeps me in a perpetual state of wonder. Making jewelry is one of the ways that I express this delight.
Primarily self-taught, I work with fine gauge wire of silver and gold, weaving bezels to encircle semi-precious stones: jade, lapis lazuli, garnet, carnelian, Peruvian opal, aquamarine and many others. I work with hammer, steel, and fire to forge handmade chain and the larger pieces. Favoring asymmetry in many of the necklace designs, I enjoy playing with finding the balance amongst the contrasting textures, shapes, colors, and weights of the stones.
